Apply the TCFD recommendations and develop your climate-related financial disclosure

ADVANCED CLIMATE DISCLOSURE (2-day workshop)

Develop your financial disclosure report outline

During this two-day workshop, understand climate reporting and work through the four categories of TCFD recommendations (Governance, Risk, Strategy, Metrics and Targets). For each category, you will explore the financial community’s expectations and understand the investor viewpoint. We will show examples from various industries and discuss the benefits and risks of different approaches.

Come prepared for an interactive workshop where you will work through your company’s reporting challenges. You will be guided by Mantle’s disclosure experts to build a TCFD-compliant outline that you can use to drive the development of your climate report.

Financial community expecting improved reporting

The financial community has strongly signaled the desire for higher quality, financially-relevant climate change reporting. Holders of $83 trillion in assets will be required to complete TCFD-compliant reports by 2020. Companies are seeing increased investor engagement and continued pressure from shareholder proxies. Traditional sustainability reports are not sufficient for this audience.

The TCFD recommendations have quickly become industry standard and provide an excellent framework to plan and develop your company’s climate-related financial disclosure. However, the recommendations provide a great deal of flexibility to be applied across industries. Additionally, some of the recommendations may be easier than others depending on the maturity of your company’s approach to climate change, size of your company and organization.

Skills and knowledge you will gain

  • Knowledge of TCFD Recommendations
  • Insight into stakeholder expectations and emerging trends
  • A detailed outline for your company’s disclosure report
  • The ability to direct your corporate resources to develop the content
